We’re all dealing with stress in our day to day lives, and not all stress is bad. We sometimes need a little bit of stress to keep us motivated and proactive. But when we are exposed to too many stressors without the tools to manage them, we can begin to feel overwhelmed and the wheels can begin to fall off.
We can all cope with different amounts of stress successfully. Your friends or colleagues may be able to handle consistently high levels of stress or make juggling five different things look effortless.
You, on the other hand, might find that any time that stress scale starts to tip in the wrong direction you freeze, procrastinate or micro-manage.
Maybe you’ve got a shorter fuse.
Maybe you’re becoming teary over things that you usually wouldn’t bat an eye at.
Maybe you have less patience for your colleague’s detailed thoughts on Eat Pray Love (the movie and the book).
A little bit too much stress, coupled with more management or coping strategies, is often the catalyst to burnout. (If you want to find out more about burnout, click here!)
It turns out that living in a state of constant stress and anxiety actually isn't normal.
I thought that having a strong work ethic meant giving more and more of myself to my workplace (even if that meant constantly working for free) and taking less time to focus on what I personally needed.
I said "yes" to so many things I should have said "no" to because I was a people pleaser.
I pushed my own self care to the side because it felt lazy and unproductive to be wasting time on myself.
I was tired, irritable, and miserable. I thought this is just the way life was.
I was plagued with the A-type, perfectionism gene. Doing things well was never good enough, I had to prove that I could be the best, and when I wasn't it devastated me. Instead of working just one job, I was working four because busy equaled success.
"I can’t thank Rachel enough for the help she gave me recently ... Rachel straight away knew the best way to work with me. She made the sessions informative & fun and I would definitely recommend her."
"Rachel is amazing! She understands your body, listens to what you want and helps you get to where you want to be."
"I came to Rachel after years of high-stress and pain, and she was a miracle worker. She was able to identify the source of my problems and work on a program that helped me get back in control of my life! I cannot recommend Rachel enough!"
Generally, the initial consultation goes for 45-60 minutes and follow-up consultations will go for 30-45 minutes.
I use Zoom to work face-to-face with my clients. You will get an email from me at least 48 hours before your appointment containing the video link. I recommend that you trial this link prior to your appointment, as you may require an app or add-in. When you sign in, please allow computer or phone audio and turn your camera on. If you need to adjust this you can click down in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.
You will be required to pay a $50 deposit when you book your appointment to hold this time for you. This price will be taken out of your consultation fee.
You will receive an invoice via email with the amount owing and payment details. The invoice amount is due within 5 days.
The frequency of your appointments will be discussed in your initial consultation. As a general rule, I like to see clients at two to four week increments initially, and then see this space out until you no longer need me.
An initial consultation is $249AUD, and follow up consultations are $199AUD.
Absolutely! As face-to-face consultations take place online, you can work with me no matter where you are in the world.
If you are unsure whether I will be able to help you, book in a free Stress Strategy Session here. I believe in only working with people I genuinely believe I can help. If this is not you, I can help you find someone who may be better suited to help you instead.
Things happen! If you have to cancel or reschedule your appointment please do this via email at least 24 hours before your consultation. This will allow someone on the waitlist to fill your spot.
